During the October holiday break, the girls from the Helderberg Academy enjoyed a day of new games and activities. The highlight of the day was swimming in the pool!
The activities were designed around the lifeskill teamwork, with a special focus on developing friendships. The girls come from two very different communities, so they had to learn to work well together and encourage one another. In particular, Gcobisa demonstrated great improvement in her ability to make new friendships and looking out for others in her team.
Without the boys present, the girls were able to flourish and show the leadership skills that they sometimes hide when surrounded by a larger group of boys. The boys had their own activities to enjoy a couple of days later…
