Supporting local schools

Hope and Light edit

Last week, the team visited Hope and Light School in Sir Lowry’s Pass to tell the children about the Helderberg Academy and invite them along to the coaching sessions in their community. The team ran an assembly for four classes of children. explaining the work that they do and encouraging the children to come along and join them.

The staff were encouraged by the work the Helderberg Academy are doing and said that their sports coach would join the team at their sessions to help with coaching Netball. This is a great opportunity to build a partnership with a local school and resulted in forty of the children coming to the session on Wednesday. Before the team left the school, the children sang the South African National Anthem, Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrika, which was an excellent reminder of the hope that the team wishes to bring through their work in the different communities.
